Kyle and Susan Skogman received the Outstanding Philanthropists award from the Association of Fundraising Professionals Eastern Iowa Chapter at the National Philanthropy Day Luncheon on November 12, 2015 at the Coralville Marriott.
The Award for Outstanding Philanthropist honors an individual or family with a proven record of exceptional generosity who, through direct financial support, demonstrates outstanding civic and charitable responsibility and whose generosity encourages others to take philanthropic leadership roles on a community, national and/or international level. The Skogman’s have been a part of the Cedar Rapids community for more than 40 years. Kyle currently serves on the Board of Directors for United Fire Group, Mercy Hospital Board of Trustees and the National Czech and Slovak Museum and Library. Mr. Skogman is a past director of the Cedar Rapids Chamber of Commerce and is a past chair of Cedar Rapids Priority One, an economic development organization within the Chamber of Commerce. Kyle has co-chaired the fundraising efforts for the Four Oaks TotalChild program, which raised more than $6 million dollars for the kids and neighborhood of Wellington Heights. He also serves on the United Way Advisory Board. The Skogman family was a Centennial Family as part of the 2014 United Way Campaign. They have played an integral roll in 3 fundraising raising campaigns, raising $15 million dollars for local economic development.
